Excellent restaurant, nous avons mangé un délicieux Espada fruit de la passion avec son fruit frais et banane, parmi les meilleures de Madère , avec des légumes frais en ratatouille, très bon et original. Une excellente salade Caprese. Et que dire de la tarte de la Nona, divine! Le tout dans une très belle présentation des plats, et un service super sympa! À bientôt! ~ Jean-Pierre T
Que comida mais maravilhosa! Um sabor incrível. Eu provei o tradicional peixe espada com banana e molho de maracujá e foi uma explosão de sabores. Meu marido escolheu o atum e estava delicioso, juntos então com a batata doce assada, uma combinação maravilhosa e os vegetais super saborosos também . A apresentação e elaboração dos pratos , impecáveis. Melhor comida da Ilha ! ~ Claudia B
Desde a simpatia do funcionário à comida, muito bom mesmo. Para não falar da sorte que é ter uma cozinha aberta quase às 16h. A comida estava muito boa, peixe espada com banana e molho de maracujá, com acompanhamento de batata doce que parecia que não ia ser algo que fosse gostar, mas surpreendeu-me, combina na perfeição e é uma refeição leve, enche, mas não deixa a sensação de estar pesada. Hoy hemos disfrutado de una comida espectacular, en el restaurante Alto Monte ( funchal) menos mal que no hicimos caso de las reseñas porque ha sido una cosa espectacular. Comimos Bolo do caco, Manteiga d‘ Algo Croquetas de Alheira, maionese de Tomate Filete Espada, Banana, molho Maracujá, puré de Batata Bife " Alto Monte", Cogumelos, três Pimientas, Batata frita Y para terminar una mousse de frita de la pasión. ~ nazaret p
Bem, este lugar é daqueles que custa a sair (principalmente se for num dia de sol) a comida estava MARAVILHOSA e o atendimento melhor ainda. E a poncha era a verdadeira da madeira, para quem assim como eu não aprecia muito bebidas fortes, é para se beber só um bocadinho. Está mais que recomendado. A minha sugestão de prato: filé de peixe com banana e molho de maracujá. Para entrada: o famoso bolo do caco torrado com manteiga de alho. Divinal! ~ Monique S
Très bon moment, agréable, belle vue et bons plats (sabre à la banane et octopus, punch maison avec fruits frais). 5/5 pour remonter la note car question prix, depuis 10j, nous trouvons que tous les restaurants sont à peu près au même prix sur l'île. ~ Inge (
Mums patiko. Maistas geras, gamina užsakius, aptarnavimas gal paprastas, bet nuoširdus. Važiuojant iš kalnų užsukome aplankyti sodo, prie šios kavinės pastatėme automobilį ir užėjome papietauti. Užsukčiau dar kartą, kaip tik pakeliui, per kalnus grįžtant į Funšalį. ~ Daiva C
Lieu avec une très belle vue sur Funchal, au calme de la folie de Monte. Sandwich très bon, copieux avec un tout petit prix, choix de glace et de boissons très variées. Le serveur et la cuisinière sont très gentils et attentionnés. Prenez le temps d’y faire une halte. ~ Vincent R
Nous nous sommes arrêtés pour manger après la visite de l’église. Tout le personnel est super accueillant, la vue est magnifique, et la cuisine est très bonne, avec une très belle présentation. Le personnel parle super bien le français 😀 Je recommande le lieu. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ~ baptiste k
De toda a madeira foi um dos melhores sítios que comi, atendimento do mais acolhedor da madeira, comida deliciosa e com muito carinho na apresentação, merece toda a nossa gratidão. Não tirei foto antes de comer porque estava ansioso por provar. ~ pedro p
Un petit repas bien apprécié tout près du jardin tropical. Menu du jour délicieux et un serveur très sympathique et accueillant qui s'est donné la peine de nous parler en français. Prix raisonnable. Je recommande sans hésiter ! ~ Isabelle F
Perfekt, um auf dem Monte anzukommen. Getränke sehr günstig und der Ausblick von der Terrasse auf Funchal und den Atlantik ist grandios. Hier werden die fleißigen Korbschlittenfahrer für die nächste Abfahrt aus den Busden gespuckt. ~ Martina S
Mâncarea buna. Încercați fructele de mare și deserturile. Noi am mâncat niște scoici la antreu cu bolo do caco, un mix grill de peste și scoici, o budincă de maracuja și am băut sangria. Vreo 60€. Dar totul era pentru 3 persoane ~ Lucian H
Great food in an informal setting. Daily catch of the day and scabbard fish, beef hanging skewers incredible! Beer well priced, red wine lovely (didn't have any white), pancha to put hairs on your chest! Great place to eat in monte, especially if you want to get out of the hotel, bus stop right there so convenient too. Manager very nice and welcoming. Shows all football (but places to sit where you can't see it if you're not into that). ~ Si K
Wir hatten sehr leckere Salate auch der Service klasse. Empfehlenswerte Location abseits vom Trubel. Von der Terrasse kann man beobachten, wie die Schlittenlenker busweise wieder zurück gebracht werden. ~ Frank U
Ci siamo fermate in questo ristorante prima di visitare la chiesa di Monte perché citato sulla nostra guida. Bisogna fare due passi rispetto a dove ti lascia la funicolare però dà l’impressione di essere forse meno turistico dei bar subito all’uscita della funicolare. È un locale carino, con terrazza esterna dove è possibile mangiare piatti semplici o panini. Abbiamo preso un cosciotto di pollo con verdure e un filetto di pesce gratinato con patatine fritte ed un’ottima creme brulè fatta in casa. Il personale è stato molto gentile, disponibile e sorridente. ~ G. P
A very nice little restaurant with amazing views. We only had a light meal, but I can wholeheartedly recommend the tomato soup with the perfectly cooked poached egg, the garlic bread (fresh, crunchy, and with lots of garlic butter), and the quite unique white-wine sangria (my first ever. It would be too sweet for some palates, but I like it nevertheless). Service is friendly and efficient and the prices reasonable. ~ Ben B
I was in Madeira for 4days. This place had the best 'Poncha'. The Drink: The drink is rather simple, orange juice, bagaço and Honey. However, this was made in front of us. The staff, squished the oranges is front of us and made the orange juice and then added the remaining of the ingredients. It was not too strong and it was not too sweet. It was just right. I recommend it as I could not find a better one in the island during my stay. ~ Tiago P

Ventrecha de Atum com puré de batata caseira. Um verdadeiro manjar dos deuses confeccionado pela Chefe Carmo. Local limpo e asseado. Staff super atencioso. Recomendo vivamente. ~ Micaela A
Nice little place with nice staff and good food. We went there twice because the first time the food was excellent. Ordered tomato soup, soup of the day (pea) and garlic bread - the first time everything was fresh and great but the second time the tomato soup was without the egg (for the same price) and soup of the day (pea again) was badly heated in a microwave and cold. ~ Lucia “
Great views, friendly service, good coffee, nice pastries, clean toilets and very reasonable prices. We took the cable car to the top of Monte and came across this authentic little local cafe after wandering around so we stopped for a relaxed drink and a pastel de nata. Cost about €5 total for us both and we found a seat straight away. Good quiet spot away from the queues. ~ Mobile P
Fabulous food made simply but incredibly tasty. The octopus sandwich was marinated and beautifully soft in crusty bread and the chips/fries accompanying the scabbard fish were crunchy without being oily and had a delicious scattering of herbs. The menu is very short but everything we ordered was great and service efficient. ~ J H
Sat down for a late lunch to wait out the rain. We enjoyed the steak & cheese sauce, chicken nuggets and a few drinks. This was the best quality beef we have had in Portugal. They have snacks here if you want to grab a bag on your walk rather than sitting down. There was a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. ~ Lily P
